Today's News Paper "Wall Street Journal"

Everyday someone wants to start their own business. Knowing that, there are two books that can help you out.

The first book, "Small Business Paradise," was written by Michael Molinski. In it he says "anyone can start up a business." He also recommends having a plan B to fall back on. His book was based on 20 people that started small businesses, and did well.

The second book was written by Larry Colin and his wife Laura. It's called "Family Own Business." Larry is a 37-year-old veteran of a family owned business. It has been in business for 92 years, four generation. Colin says that there are 24 million family businesses, and each business is different. His book is also a self-help book. It’s an easy read, very entertaining.

A company named “Score” will help you on getting started in business. They will be your mentor, and if you need training they will tell you where to go. But, if you need financing, they will show how and where would be the best place to go; also showing any grants that you may qualify for.

So, starting up a business today takes a little research, but it can be done, very successfully too. All it takes is an idea to start a business. You need to plan it out, do all the research that you need; check out your competitors and decide where you want your business. What kind of customers will you have? You don't have to go into the process blind; the resources are there for you to take advantage of, so get all the help you can. You can also buy an already functioning business; just make sure you check out everything you can, because that's why some business are so successful.
